Windows 10 update keeps prompting for a restart.

Hello, as the title says, I'm running Windows 10 on a 64-bit machine, and Windows Update keeps telling me to restart to install important updates. When I do, it doesn't install anything and still shows the same message. It even periodically prompts or automatically reboots itself. Can anyone assist me with this issue? Please help! Thank you.

Chances are, most Windows users have encountered this issue. How do you fix this error? Try the solutions in this article to resolve your problem immediately.

Solving the Issue of Windows Update Constantly Prompting for a Restart

Here are three possibilities; see if one of them fits for you.

Solution 1: Disable the Auto-Reboot Option

Many hardware driver or operating system errors will cause a specific error message to be displayed on the computer before it stops operating or before it shuts down. However, if the "Automatically restart" option is enabled, an error message may not be displayed even if an error occurs. Disabling this option allows the computer to display an error message.

In Windows, search for and open "View advanced system settings." Click "Settings" under the "Startup and Recovery" section. Uncheck "Automatically restart" under "System Failure," then click "OK." Restart your computer.

Solution 2: Perform a system restore

If the issue is new, you might be able to fix it by restoring your computer to a point before the problem started. For more information about how to use System Restore, see Perform a system restore with Todo Backup. Todo Backup can back up your system partition so that you can create a restore disk in Windows. Therefore, when your operating system crashes or there's a hardware failure, you can quickly restore your system and run it under different Windows OS.

Solution 3: Run the Windows Update troubleshooter

Please connect your computer to the Internet and ensure that the network adapter and Windows Update service are functioning properly. Follow these steps now to resolve the error:
