I'm looking for a way to recover screenshots in Windows 10.
"Hey, if you're a gamer like me, you might have encountered the same problem. The other day, I took some game screenshots using the PrintScreen key to use as reference for something in the game. But all of them were gone. I searched my computer, but found nothing! Is there any way to recover lost or deleted screenshots?"
When using a Windows computer, you can quickly capture the contents of your screen by using the "Print Screen" key. Pressing Ctrl + Print Screen or just Print Screen alone will save an image of what's on your screen to the Windows clipboard. You'll then need to paste the clipboard's contents into an image editor and save it as a file format like JPG/JPEG or PNG.
Whether or not you can recover a screenshot depends on how you lost it. As mentioned, when you press Ctrl + Print Screen, your computer temporarily saves the image to the Windows clipboard. If you don't paste and save the image in time, the clipboard will overwrite the data when new information is copied or cut. In this case, the screenshot cannot be recovered.
However, if you have lost your screenshots saved on the computer due to human errors like accidental deletion, formatting of storage device, system corruption, or any other unknown issue, you can use professional data recovery tools like the Tools Data Recovery software demonstrated below to successfully retrieve deleted screenshots.
To recover deleted or lost screenshots, we highly recommend trying a data recovery tool. With this powerful data recovery program, you can restore erased photos and images from HDD, SSD, USB flash drives, external hard drives, and more.
