Are you new to the Apple Watch, or have you just upgraded your iPhone to the latest model? Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned user, you'll need this guide to pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone so that you can enjoy all the delightful and convenient services they provide together. Here, I'll show you two ways to connect these devices: automatic pairing (using your iPhone's camera) and manual pairing (through the "Apple Watch" app on your iPhone).
To ensure a smooth pairing process and prevent any issues, there are some preparations you need to make before connecting.
How to Prepare
1. Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone: Open the "Settings" app, find "Bluetooth", and tap to enable it.
2. Make sure your iPhone is connected to a network.
3. Start Apple Watch and select a language: Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo. Then, scroll through the options to choose your preferred language.
With those preparations complete, you're ready to follow the two-step process for connecting your Apple Watch to your iPhone.
1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. 2. Tap Start Pairing. You'll see a yellow border appear around the camera viewfinder on your screen.
Step 3: Place your Apple Watch behind your iPhone, aligned with the viewfinder. Wait for the message that says your Apple Watch has paired.
It should be easy. However, there's always the chance something goes wrong. If your Apple Watch won't connect to your iPhone, try these fixes.
Step 1: On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app and tap Start Pairing.
Step 2: Tap Manually Pair Apple Watch.
Step 3: On your Apple Watch, tap the i icon in the top-right corner, and check the name of your Apple Watch.
Step 4: Select your device's name from the list of available iPhones. Step 5: After step 4, a six-digit code will appear on your Apple Watch. Follow the onscreen instructions on your iPhone to “Enter this code.” Your watches will pair.
Notice:
Before you can sync, you need to: 1. Set up your wrist preference, agree to the terms and conditions, and sign in with your Apple ID. 2. Complete some required settings, like Location Services, Siri, and Diagnostics. 3. Then, follow the instructions on your iPhone screen to set a passcode for your Apple Watch. 4. Finally, tap Install All or Select Later to choose which available apps you want to install on your Apple Watch. Your watch will then begin syncing. 5. Syncing your Apple Watch takes about 20 minutes, so make sure both devices are charging.
Now that you've successfully paired your Apple Watch with your iPhone, you can start enjoying everything it has to offer.
