Abstract
If your iPhone is damaged, waterlogged, or unresponsive, you can still recover data from it as long as you can power it up and unlock it. If that's what you're looking for, this guide is for you!
There are many reasons why your iPhone might not turn on, such as a failed jailbreak, a system crash, or water damage. These can sometimes result in lost data on your device. Don't panic, though! As long as you can power up and unlock your device, or you've previously “trusted” your device with your computer, you may still be able to recover your lost data. If not, you may only be able to restore some of your data from an iCloud backup. Check out our guides for more detailed instructions on each method.
If you've previously connected your device to a computer and trusted it, you can use recovery tools or iTunes/iCloud to restore data. Of these two options, using an iPhone recovery tool is more advisable. Here's why we recommend using an iOS recovery tool instead of iTunes or iCloud to retrieve data from a damaged iPhone:
Actually, a powerful recovery tool can do more. Take this professional iPhone Data Recovery Pro - MobiSaver for example. Apart from the above features, it can also retrieve data from iPhone directly or selectively from iTunes/iCloud backups with outstanding performance. Almost all popular iOS data like photos, messages, videos, contacts, etc. are included in the data types that this program can recover.
Not only that, but it also boasts an impressive array of features such as secure cleaning, user-friendly interface, fast recovery speed, and high success rate in data recovery.
If you're interested in trying the tool, download it and give it a spin!
Step 1: Choose the recovery mode
Connect your iPhone to the computer and launch the MobiSaver tool. On the left, select the recovery mode – “Recover from iOS Device” – and click “Start”.
Step 2: Scan your iPhone to find the lost data
MobiSaver will scan your iPhone 13/12/11/X/XR/XS/8/7/6/5/4 automatically and find all the existing data, as well as some lost data.
Step 3: Preview and recover iPhone data
You can select the lost data you want to retrieve, like photos, videos, contacts, SMS, notes, voicemail, or other files, from your iPhone 13/12/11/X/XR/XS/8/7/6/5/4. Then, click “Recover” and save these data to another location.
If you've previously synced your iPhone with this computer and established a trust relationship between the two, you can restore most of your data and settings from iTunes. Note that this will overwrite any existing data on your iPhone, however. If you don't want this to happen, skip ahead to the first method instead.
Step 1: Connect your new or wiped iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes.
Step 2: Click the device icon in the top-left corner of the iTunes window.
Step 3: Click “Summary.”
Step 4: In the right panel of iTunes, click on "Restore Backup..."
Thanks to iCloud's backup service, you can easily restore lost data from your iCloud account as long as you've created an iCloud backup previously. To restore your iPhone from iCloud, you'll need to erase your device first, and then restore it from an available iCloud backup. This will inevitably lead to data loss, so make sure that the backup contains what you want. Otherwise, all existing data will be replaced with what's in the backup.
If you've met all the prerequisites, it's time to recover data from iCloud following the steps below.
Step 1: Check whether you have an iCloud backup from recently.
Step 2: Have a brand new iPhone or an existing one with all data erased ready for use. If you don't know how to erase the data, here are the steps.
Step 3: Restore from iCloud.
If you've never trusted your computer with your iPhone before, or if your iPhone is completely bricked and none of the screen works, you're out of luck. In that case, you can only restore photos, contacts, calendars, and Safari bookmarks from iCloud.com. But there are two catches.
Assuming everything is set up, you can recover your data from iCloud by following these steps.
Step 1: Open any web browser and visit iCloud.com.
Click “Settings.”
Step 3: In the “Advanced” section, click on “Restore Files.”
Step 4. Check the boxes next to the data you want to restore.
Step 5: Click on “Recover Files”.
Note: You can only recover data that was deleted within the last 30 days.
Hopefully, the methods outlined in this guide have helped you recover your lost or deleted data. Data loss can happen anytime, and one of the safest ways to prevent it from happening again is to install an iPhone data recovery tool like MobiSaver on your computer. That way, you can restore any erased, deleted, or missing data at any time.
