Where is the Camtasia serial key? Well, for individual users, you're allowed to install a TechSmith software on two computers. If you want to transfer Camtasia to another computer, you can reactivate the product with your product key on the new device. Unfortunately, most users (myself included) don't keep track of license keys in a memorable place.
Thus, in this article, we will teach you four reliable ways on how to find your Camtasia product key.
There's no easier way to find your Camtasia serial number than by using a product key finder tool. To quickly get your 25-character code, we recommend using the Key Finder utility. For newer versions, the "Product Key" feature is designed to output and save your activation code for you. It only takes two steps: scan and copy.
Note: This software works only on Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, XP, Server. For the Mac version, proceed to Option 2.
Step 1: Click on the "Application" tab under "Registry Key."
Step 2: Look at the right pane to view the application's registry key. Key Finder will display the keys of all installed software. Copy the serial number you need. You can also click “Print” or “Save.”
Camtasia itself has a way to find your serial number baked right into it. You can open it up on Windows or a Mac and go to this location.
Step 1: Open Camtasia on your old computer.
< strong >Step 2:</strong> Click the “Help” option from the top taskbar.
Step 3: Select “Technical Support” from the drop-down menu.
Step 5. Scroll to the right and locate RegistrationKey.
Step 1. Open Camtasia on your old computer.
Step 2. Select “Camtasia” and click “Activate.” Then, find your Camtasia serial number.
Step 3: Copy the key to your new computer to activate the software.
If you did not format the C drive, then your Camtasia folder with the license information should still be there. If you only formatted it occasionally, you can go back to using the third-party software.
Step 1: Click on "This PC" on your computer.
Step 2: Double-click on the C drive in the Devices with Removable Storage section.
Step 3: Next, you'll need to find the “ProgramData” folder.
If you cannot see this folder, do the following:
Click the "File" tab in the top-left corner > Select "Change folder and search options" > In the "Folder Options" window, click the "View" tab, then go to the "Hidden files and folders" section, and check the box for "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" > Click "Apply" and then "OK."
Step 4. Open the ProgramData folder.
Step 5: Scroll down and locate the TechSmith folder.
Step 6: Double-click on the Camtasia Studio folder.
Step 7: You should see a file named “RegInfo.ini”. Open it with Notepad. The registrationKey is the one you want. Copy the 25-character product key.
Note: Some users have replied that they do not have a RegInfo.ini file in their Camtasia folder. You might not be looking in the right version of Camtasia. Try opening all the folders under TechSmith and see what happens. If this doesn't work, try the next solution.
Usually one of these three methods will easily yield a 25-character software key, but if not, try these two approaches.
Step 1: Sign in to your TechSmith account.
Step 2: Under My Products, you should see the software you purchased. Copy the numbers after Serial Number.
Note: If your activation key is not listed under My Products, scroll down the page and click Find a lost software key.
Step 1: Check your email for the order confirmation message (if you haven't deleted it).
Step 2: Your software key is contained within this email.
Use the Todo PCTrans tool in "PC to PC" mode to transfer the program between two computers. Download the software on both computers and select "PC to PC" mode to connect. Choose Camtasia from the program list, then initiate the transfer of the TechSmith software.
