"How can I completely copy Avira Antivirus from one computer to another without having to reinstall it? It often shows an error message during download. Can anyone help?"
To be honest, simply copying the Avira antivirus might not work. Such complex software needs to interact with the registry to run. Hence, you need an installer to put Avira on your computer. But what if your new PC shows a “Download Paused” error? How do you install Avira on a new computer or another drive then?
For the tool Todo PCTrans, this is child's play – a simple PC transfer software. With its help, transferring Avira to a new computer or laptop only takes a few steps. In addition, there are several other highlights of the software for transferring the Avira antivirus from one computer to another:
Now, download and run the PC Transfer software on both computers, and learn how to transfer your licensed Avira antivirus from one computer to another.
Step 1: Run Todo PCTrans on Both Computers
Install and run Todo PCTrans on both the old and new computers. On the source computer, click “PC to PC” on the main screen.
Step 2: Connect the two computers
Connect to the target computer and enter the account password or verification code for that computer.
Step 3: Choose the antivirus program you want to transfer to another computer
1. Under "Applications," select the antivirus you want to transfer to your new computer, such as AVG, Avast, or Avira.
2. After selecting the antivirus, click “Transfer” to start the transfer process.
After the transfer is complete, uninstall Avira from your old computer. Then find and run Avira on your new computer. Click “License” in the program to finalize the authentication process. You should now be able to use Avira on your new computer.
If you want to move Avira to a new hard drive or change its installation location, things get a bit easier. However, you can't do it with a simple copy and paste. You need a tool like Todo PCTrans. Here are the steps to move Avira to another drive:
Step 1: Run Todo PCTrans and choose Transfer mode
On the main interface of Todo PCTrans, go to the “App Migration” section and click “Start” to proceed.
Step 2: Choose the app and the other drive to move it to
1. Select the source disk and check the apps, programs, and software you wish to migrate (labeled as "Yes").
2. Click the triangle icon to select another drive or disk as the target device, and then click "Migrate" to start the migration.
Step 3: Complete the migration process
After the transfer is complete, click OK to finish.
You can restart your computer to apply the changes, and the migration assistant should then run again on the other drive.
