Alright, in this article, we'll teach you how to transfer H&R Block, along with its software, tax files, and settings, from one computer to another using both a migration tool and a manual method.
The usual way is to copy and paste, by transferring tax files from “My Documents” to an external hard drive or USB stick, and then reinstalling the software on the new machine. That works, but it is cumbersome. There is a better way.
A better way to transfer is to use the Todo PCTrans tool, which can automatically move the H&R Block program, data, and settings from one computer to another. We offer you three transfer modes: PC to PC, Backup and Restore, and Data Recovery. This tool works for migrating programs, files, and settings on Windows 10/8.1/8/7/XP/Vista.
Let's take this step by step.
Step 1: Run Todo PCTrans on both computers
Download Todo PCTrans, and you'll be presented with the PC-to-PC interface.
Step 2: Choose the transfer direction - from the old computer or to the new one.
"This is a new computer" - Transfer all data from the old computer to this new one wirelessly.
"This is the old computer" - Transfer all data from the current old device to the new one.
Step 3: Connect the two computers
1. Select the target PC to connect to by IP address or device name, then click "Connect".
2. Type the target computer's login password, then click OK to confirm.
If the target computer is not on the list, you can also click Add Computer to manually connect by entering the IP address or device name.
Step 4: Select applications, programs, and software to transfer to the destination computer
1. You choose what to transfer from the current computer to the target computer.
2. After selecting the apps and data you want to transfer, click on “Transfer” to start the process.
The transfer should now be complete, and you can run it. If you prefer to do things manually, the next section is for you!

How to Transfer TurboTax to a New Computer (Windows 10/8/7)
Here are some helpful methods to easily transfer TurboTax to a new computer.
Step 1. Back up your tax documents to an external device.
1. Plug an external drive into your old computer.
Open File Explorer and hover over the “Documents” folder. Search for “HR Block” within the folder. H&R Block tax files have the file extension “.tX,” where “X” represents the last two digits of the tax year. For example, a 2020 tax return would have the extension “.t20.”
2. Drag or copy it to that disk.
3. Remove the hard drive.
Step 2. Reinstall H&R Block on your new computer from the official website.
Step 3: Plug the storage device into the new computer.
Open File Explorer in Windows, and then drag your tax files to the destination folder.
With it, you can view the same files and reports on your new computer just as you did before. Which method would you prefer to transfer H&R Block from one computer to another? If neither of these options work for you, please contact us. Todo PCTrans is always available!
