HDD RAW Copy Tool is a utility designed for hard disk cloning and data replication. Its primary function is to directly copy the contents of one hard drive to another without going through the file system. This makes it particularly useful for dealing with damaged or problematic disks, as well as for creating backups while preserving the integrity of original data. Key features of this tool include: 1. **RAW Copy**: It does not rely on the file system but reads the physical sectors of the hard drive directly, allowing it to attempt data recovery even if the disk has bad sectors or a damaged file system. 2. **Cloning Function**: It can create an exact replica of the source hard drive, including the boot sector, partition table, and all associated information. 3. **User-Friendly Interface**: The interface is simple and intuitive, making it easy to use even for those with minimal computer experience. 4. **Safe and Reliable**: During the copying process, HDD RAW Copy Tool protects the original data as much as possible, minimizing the risk of data loss or damage due to the copying process. 5. **Portable Application**: The tool typically doesn't require installation and can be run directly from a USB drive or other portable storage devices. Please note that "RAW" in this context refers to unformatted or unallocated disk space not assigned to any file system, not the RAW format commonly used in audio or video contexts.

The “raw” format makes copying/cloning a disk slightly different.

A disk-imaging utility that supports raw mode works like this:

It copies every sector of the hard drive, including the partition table (MBR/GPT), boot records, all partitions, and free space. In short, use a RAW cloning tool only when you want an exact copy of your hard drive.

When do you need HDD RAW Copy Tool?

    • For certain forensic purposes

Supports comprehensive e-discovery of a specific hard drive, including copying all its contents, even hidden areas of the drive that aren't visible on the computer.

Recovery from a damaged hard drive

Clone a damaged hard drive and perform data recovery on the clone. Disk cloning tools skip bad sectors while copying, saving you a lot of time waiting for an average disk cloning software to copy them.

    • As a last resort

It backs up the contents of the disk, along with its file system, partitioning, and allocation of disk space, for future use on a new drive.

Of course, it is also a RAW clone tool that can meet the basic needs of anyone to replace an old hard drive with a new one without data loss or the need to reinstall the operating system. It's really a simple, powerful, and user-friendly disk cloning software. Anyone can handle disk cloning work easily!

How to Create a RAW Clone of an HDD or SSD

Step-by-step guide:

Launch the utility "Disk Clone" for a smooth disk copying or cloning process.

1. Download, install, and run the Disk Copy utility on your computer. Click on Disk Mode, select the source disk that you want to copy or clone, then click Next.

Select the source disk to clone

Select the destination disk to clone or copy to

3. Check and edit the disk layout, you can choose "Autofit to disk", "Copy as source disk" or "Edit disk layout".
It is recommended to select "Autofit to disk".

    • Selecting the “Copy as source” option will copy/clones the partition layout of the source disk to the target disk. • Editing the disk layout allows you to manually adjust the partition sizes or move the partition layout on the target disk. • If your target disk is an SSD, remember to check the “Target is SSD” option.

Click Continue to start the disk clone or disk copy immediately.

Finish cloning or copying to the new disk
