Abstract

What is FAT16? Data Recovery Wizard can easily recover deleted, lost and inaccessible files or folders from FAT16 disk drives.

Uses 16-bit entries to address clusters in the File Allocation Table. Typically used by DOS and Windows 95 systems.

A 16-bit DOS and Windows file system (see FAT) that adjusts the cluster size to the size of the disk. Cluster sizes range from 4KB (for disks up to 127MB) to 4KB (for 255MB), 8KB (for 511MB), 16KB (for 1GB), and 32KB (for disks up to 2GB). The maximum partition size for FAT16 is 2GB.
