As one of the best hard drive recovery software, Data Recovery Wizard outperforms its competitors that offer similar solutions in recovering data from deletion, formatted file recovery, recovering from recycle bin, and partition recovery. Despite its successful track record in helping millions of users restore their valuable files, there are instances when the tool may fail to fulfill its purpose.
There are five common issues reported by users when using the Data Recovery Wizard tool. (Similar software hang problems may also occur with other products, such as Todo Backup, Partition Master, and MobiMover, etc.)
Identify the issue and apply the corresponding solution to fix it.
Any software may hang on a process, and Data Recovery Wizard is no exception. If the tool is taking too long on a deep scan or hanging during the scanning process, it could mean that your disk is very large and the software needs more time to scan the entire disk, or there is an issue with the hard drive. Let's troubleshoot step by step. (You can use the same method when other Toolwiz products like Toolwiz Partition Master, Toolwiz Todo Backup, and Toolwiz MobiMover hang.)
If the software hangs during a scan, try to recover a file and see if the data recovery is successful. You can check the process in Task Manager afterwards.
Step 1: Right-click on any empty space on the taskbar, and then select “Task Manager.”
Step Two: Grab a tool like Process Explorer and see if there's any change in CPU, memory, or disk (I/O) usage.
If the file can be recovered and the numbers have changed, that means the software is working fine. Just wait patiently.
If no files were restored or the number remains the same, continue with Method 2.
If this happens, the program may be completely frozen. Force-close the program and then reconnect the device you're scanning (if it's an external storage device).
Step 1: Right-click on any empty space on the taskbar, and then select "Task Manager."
Step 2: Click on “Tools” > “Data Recovery Wizard” > “Abort Task”.
Step 3: Reconnect the device you want to scan, and make sure Windows recognizes it. (If it's not showing up or being recognized, fix that first.)
Step 4: Run the tool – Data Recovery Wizard and start scanning.
Step 5: Try to recover files during the scan.
If the software runs smoothly, then the issue is resolved. If Data Recovery Wizard still gets stuck during the scan, please contact our Support Team (support@tools.com) for remote assistance.
The time it takes for the software to build the directory tree depends on the read/write speed of your target hard drive and the size of your system RAM. You can also use Task Manager to check if the CPU and memory usage of the "Data Recovery Wizard" tool is changing (same method as in Question 1). If there are changes, wait patiently for the scan to finish. If not, proceed with the following steps.
Step 1: Force quit the app from the Task Manager.
Step 2: Reconnect the storage device. (Again, make sure it's recognized.)
Step 3: Launch the Data Recovery Software and open Task Manager.
Step 4: Click on “Tools” and choose “Data Recovery Wizard”, then click “EUImg.exe” to finish the task.
Step 5: Start the scan from the software.
Try to recover the file during the scan. If it succeeds, the issue is resolved. If not, please contact our support team (support@tools.com) for remote assistance.
Does the software take a long time to load from the hard drive? If so, that could indicate read/write errors on the disk. This could be due to improper connection of the disk or physical issues with the disk itself. Thus, there are two solutions you can try.
You could try replacing the cable or using a different USB port to connect your device, then run the Data Recovery Wizard to scan the disk.
If you continue to see messages like "disk information refreshing," you may have physical bad sectors or other damage on your hard drive. You can scan for these with a tool like HD Tune. If there are indeed errors on the disk, you'll want to have it manually repaired before attempting file recovery.
This might be due to bad sectors on the detected storage device. You can try replacing the data cable or interface to see if the issue persists. If the error still occurs, please wait patiently to see if the software can complete the scan. If the scanning process takes too long, it's recommended to use HD Tune to check for hard drive errors. If errors are found, please send the device for repair.
This message indicates that there isn't enough system memory to run the program. Before applying any fixes, you should first confirm whether you're using 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.
Step 1: Type System in the Windows search box.
Step 2: Click on “Settings” from the search results.
Step 3: In Settings, go to System > About.
Step 4: Click on System type under Device specifications to see whether your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit.
If you're using a 32-bit version of Windows, you may need to scan fewer files due to memory limitations with the operating system. To do this, you can prevent the Data Recovery Wizard from scanning for RAW files or scanning file systems.
Step 1. Input the installation path of the tool, Data Recovery Wizard, on your computer.
Step 2: Locate and rename the file called EURAWSearchDLL.dll.
Step 3: Launch the software and start scanning.
Step 1: Check the file system of the partition you want to scan. Right-click on it and select "Properties." Under the "General" tab, you'll see the file system of the current drive.
Step 2: Input the installation path of the Disk Data Recovery Wizard on your computer.
Step 3: Locate and rename the EU[file system]SearchDLL.dll file. For example, if the disk volume's file system is NTFS, rename EUNTFSsearchDLL.dll.
Step 4: Run the Data Recovery Wizard to start scanning the partition and recover lost files.
However, if you're on a 64-bit version of Windows, you can't switch to a 32-bit system with more RAM. Your only options are to recover the data while it's scanning or reduce the number of files you're scanning as described above.
Unfortunately, we can't offer any assistance with that. None of the above solutions apply to your issue with the pirated copy of Tools Data Recovery Serial Key that you've downloaded. The risks of getting stuck, unresponsive, frozen, or experiencing a crash were already foreseeable when you decided to download a cracked version of the software.
If not, and you are using a fully licensed copy of the Data Recovery Wizard activated with an official license code, your entitlement to technical support should be well covered by the software company's 24/7 service. This is the quickest and most effective way to get help should you encounter any issues while scanning your hard drive, searching for data, or attempting to recover specific files.
Other Tool software may have the same or similar issues. If you are bothered by these annoying things, you can try these methods. If none of them work, or if you are using activated software, please contact our support team (for Tool Data Recovery Wizard, contact support@tools.com; for Tool Partition Master and Tool Todo Backup, contact support@todo-backup.com) for one-on-one technical support.
