Step 1: Go to the AutoRecover folder.

    1. Launch PowerPoint and create a new presentation. 2. Click on the "File" tab, then go to "Options" and then "Save."

Under the “Save As” options, there are a few customizable ones. Check the box that says “Save Presentation.” You'll see “AutoRecover file location” under “Save as type.”

Step 2: Find your unsaved file.

    1. Copy the file path next to "AutoRecover file location." 2. Open File Explorer by clicking on its shortcut in the taskbar or by typing "File Explorer" in the search box, or press Windows key + E on your keyboard. 3. Paste the copied file path and press Enter.

This will open the PowerPoint folder, where you can locate the file you want to recover and save it to a specific folder or your desktop.

After you recover your file, we recommend that you return to the Save As page and change the AutoRecover information interval. The shorter the interval, the more likely you will be able to recover your file if it's lost in the future.
